Vinfolio Launches Hong Kong Ecommerce Site   (November 04, 2009) HONG KONG, BUSINESS WIRE --

Vinfolio, the foremost source for fine wine, announces its expansion into the Asian market with the launch of its Hong Kong ecommerce website, vinfolio.hk. Since the elimination of duties on wine imports in February of last year, the fine wine market in Hong Kong has seen tremendous growth leading many to declare that Hong Kong soon will become the hub for wine trade in Asia. Vinfolio aims to capitalize on these developments with a new ecommerce site that supports its local sales office, enhances its existing customer relationships and leads to a larger share of wine sales in the region.

'Launching vinfolio.hk is a natural move for Vinfolio since many of our best customers reside in Hong Kong,' says Stephen Bachmann, Vinfolio Founder and CEO. 'We firmly believe that providing a Hong Kong ecommerce website that allows Hong Kong customers to order fine wine locally is fundamental to any successful wine business presence in the region, and demonstrates Vinfolio's commitment to the Hong Kong market.' The launch of vinfolio.hk marks another step in Vinfolio's plan to capitalize on the region's heightened interest in fine wine and is a direct response to the growth of fine wine sales in Asia.

'The recent increase in the number of auctions taking place in Hong Kong is only one indicator of a growing demand for fine wine in the region,' says Jean-Michel Valette, Master of Wine and Vinfolio Chairman. 'Other indicators include everything from a recent report that Hong Kongers drink more wine per capita than anyone in Asia; to the announcement that Chateau Margaux is making its first ever visit to Asia to host a wine dinner in Hong Kong this week.' The wine industry has its sights on Asia and Vinfolio is positioning itself to take a leadership role in the evolution of this market.

In addition to its new Hong Kong ecommerce website, Vinfolio automatically records details of purchases made from vinfolio.hk into VinCellar, its free online cellar management tool. This makes it easy for customers to track their wine purchases, create wine tasting notes and monitor the value of their wine collections from any internet connection in the world.

Vinfolio sells thousands of wines through its online store and makes regular shipments to Hong Kong via air freight couriers, refrigerated containers and freight forwarders. Trade and retail customers are invited to meet with Vinfolio representatives, including Mr. Bachmann, at the 2009 Hong Kong International Wine Fair, Booth 3EB35 from November 4 -6.
