CrossTec Corporation Appoints iDESIGN Solutions as Strategic SoftXpand Reseller in Canada and North Western United States

  (August 22, 2011)

Boca Raton, FL, USA & Toronto, Ontario, CA (PRWEB) August 22, 2011

CrossTec Corporation and iDESIGN Solutions announced today the signing of a strategic sales agreement appointing iDESIGN Solutions a resale partner for the award winning SoftXpand MultiSeat Desktop Virtualization Software in Canada and the Northwestern United States.

SoftXpand helps organizations reduce up front PC purchase costs, reduce operating costs, total cost of ownership, and decrease their carbon footprint by enabling the creation of multiple workstations on Windows 7, Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, and Windows Server 2008 R2 based machines. The software converts a single desktop PC into a system capable of supporting multiple fully functioning workstations simultaneously each with their own desktop, monitor, keyboard, and mouse. Since SoftXpand is a software only solution and does not rely on a thin client, it delivers high-performance video options to each workstation, enabling the support of high intensity applications.

iDESIGNs standpoint on the emerging STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and Design segments of the education market align them perfectly to distribute SoftXpand as it is capable of running these types of applications off of a virtual desktop, said Michael Beverly, Marketing & Advertising Manager of CrossTec Corporation. iDESIGN will be able to offer their customers a great education bundle, allowing them to reduce their hardware costs and be able to provide more software tools to help students learn and grow, preparing them for the workforce.

iDESIGN Solutions VP, Andy Fenos commented: We are very excited to represent the SoftXpand software in the education market. Its a great software solution for schools in need of a low cost, high performance multi-workstation environment, especially for those schools that offer CAD, 3D modeling and animation software training. Sharing workstations without sacrificing software performance using SoftXpand reduces the cost to run a tech-program, which is a win-win for students, teachers and administrators.

Organizations implementing SoftXpand when purchasing new computers can reduce new hardware costs by as much as 80% while reducing manpower costs, energy costs, and green usage by as much as 75%. In addition, SoftXpands flexible software approach gives organizations the ability to repurpose and multiply existing computers which is invaluable in the tight budget situations that many educational institutions are experiencing today.

SoftXpand retails for a fraction of the cost of a new PC and significantly less than a thin client. For more information on SoftXpand in North America, including online resources, cost-savings calculators, or to sign up for a webinar please visit http://www.crosstecsoftware.com.

iDESIGN Solutions will be demonstrating the SoftXpand solution at the upcoming Alberta Technology Leaders in Education (ATLE) annual conference November 16th-18th at the Capri Centere in Red Deer, Alberta. Stop by their booth to see SoftXpand in action.
