Reality TV Works its Way into Education with New Apprentice-style Courses, Claims Language School Malvern House

  (January 16, 2013)

Brighton, UK (PRWEB UK) 16 January 2013

While the teacher isnt an east Londoner pointing a finger and screaming Youre fired!, the teamwork and group presentations involved in Malvern House colleges new English for Work course bring an element of the successful show into the classroom.

The course provides students with the language and communication skills required for using English in the workplace through activities and mock situations that mimic those in the boardroom, and in real-life interview settings and workplaces.

In addition, students can improve their email writing skills and telephone manner as well as their fluency, accuracy and vocabulary in English, which in turn boosts their confidence and career prospects.

Malvern House is also offering several other new courses alongside English for Work: the more specific English for Media and English for Tourism courses, and a more general Academic Semester course for those who want all-round development. Full details of all the schools courses can be found at http://www.malvernhouse.com.

English for Media is suited to students who want to improve their English language through an examination of key areas of the media, including TV, newspapers, advertising and radio. For those who have an interest in the media, current affairs, or who may want to pursue a career in this industry, the course offers the perfect opportunity to acquire useful skills.

English for Tourism is tailored towards students who want to work in the travel, tourism or hospitality industries. If students want to become fluent in dealing with people from other countries, they can practise real-life situations created to help them learn how to communicate more effectively.

The Academic Semester course offers an intensive option, focusing on all-round improvement of students English and study skills. The 16-24-week course can begin on any Monday and provides a taste of living abroad and following a structured study programme in preparation for future studies or work in an English-speaking environment. It is open to those aged 16 and up, and comes with the flexibility of progressing to a Cambridge or IELTS course, which can be useful for students who want to apply to university.

With your help I was able to apply for universities and receive an unconditional offer, said one student of the college.

My teachers have given me confidence speaking English and learning English something I never had at home. This confidence will help my future, says another Malvern House student.
