Simian Debuts New State-of-the-Art Video Player and Enhanced Presentations

The latest upgrade of the industry-leading media management platform focuses on usability; includes redesigned presentations, (January 09, 2013)

Along with a sleeker, more user friendly design, the latest enhancements to Simian's Reel Presentation module make it possible to create presentations that adapt automatically to any browser. Brand-able email templates and improved Project Presentation Templates plus additional Media Library capabilities make the management and sharing of all types of media files effortless.

Key Features

HTML5 Video Player

An all-new, state-of-the-art HTML5 video player allows videos to play seamlessly on any browser or mobile device. Automatic fallback to Flash and QuickTime ensures optimal playback on non-HTML5 browsers. 

Browser-Adaptable Reel Presentations

Presentation templates support video at larger sizes than ever before. When videos load, they automatically adapt to the browser size, without compromising quality. Intuitive functionality allows lengthy credit lists or descriptions to be added without interfering with video display. A new HTML5 document viewer allows PDF files to be viewed inline within presentations. Browser and mobile templates have been given a minimalist, modern feel. Enhanced branding features and password protection have also been added. 

Intuitive Project Presentations

Streamlined for look and usability, enhanced templates now feature multiple viewing options making it easier and faster to create projects involving large numbers of files. A new Real-Time Visualization Slider allows thumbnails to be resized and viewed by gallery or list on the fly. Reels can be imported into presentations for viewing inline. Auto-play now supports the playing of common file types seamlessly.

Media Library and API

Media files in multiple formats and of varying type can be uploaded and accessed directly through the Simian API. Alternate formats can be delivered to multiple platforms, including websites and apps.

Customized Emails 

Email templates are now equipped with a multiple image options like Simian's classic thumbnail or a large hero image layout that allows the user to highlight a key image as a cover.
